Valentine’s Day Event Report
Hi Culture Linkers!
Hey what a great day! Thanks to everybody who came along and made the day another success. Great to see some of the familiar faces coming back. And I’m sure all the new students enjoyed themselves.
The lesson went really well and it was good to see you getting into and enjoying the games and activities. ‘Spin the bottle’ was a big hit. Thanks to the two interns for demonstrating how to, and how not to, use a ‘pick-up’ line (lol).
The activity down at West Lake was also well received and I saw you all having a great time in the swan boats. Especially the race back to the pier at the end of the hour – great turn of speed guys!
And wasn’t the bakery a great place for our coffee later? The cakes were really great.
Both Elaine and I were very impressed with the poetry written for the competition. It was very hard to decide on a winner and big congratulations to those who took off the prizes. And you can see all the poems on this website.
By the way, thanks to David’s mother for bringing the prizes all the way from England.
Mmmm. January prizes from Australia, February prizes from England, where will the prizes for March come from?
And speaking of March, we will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday March 21st. Look out for the flyers at your Language Link home branch. Buy your tickets early and see you all there for yet another great day of Culture Link.
