APRIL 2010 – EASTER EVENT REPORT
Hi Culture Linkers!
It was great to see so many old faces back again for another Sunday of fun along with a bunch of newbies. Welcome! You all got involved and had a great time. There were some fantastic ‘Balloon Bunnies’ created and the mental scramble for jigsaw pieces was intense. I wonder if my class can remember their buzzers!? I can still taste those chocolate eggs from the ‘Easter Egg Hunt’. After some hallway antics and class-room collisions in the ‘Egg Obstacle Race’ we were off to the fishing spot. Bao Son beckoned and after a 45 minute traffic run, always fun in Hanoi, we rolled up at the ecology park and the prospect of some intense encounters of the fish kind.
Before pitting our wits and biceps against the denizens of the murky deep we gathered for the first public airing of the ‘Culture Linkers’. That’s right folks, we now have our very own theme song, penned by yours truly and rendered in true hearty Culture Link style by the assembled Linkers. (By the way, the words are now on this site so practice hard for the May event). The other fisher-folk were, if not appreciative, at least distracted by our vocal volley!
Back to the fishing and though the size of the adversary was not great their stealth and cunning taxed the patience and skill of the crew. I have to say that the fish won on the day, as only three of somewhat small size, well okay TINY (check out the photo) were landed. But everybody had an enjoyable time sitting on the shaded veranda, with a line in the water and an ice-cold coke in their hand. And the ‘casting competition’ was a hoot!
It was great to see some of our very own CSO’s joining us for the afternoon event. Thanks to Thanh and Bich from Lang Ha and Minh and Pham from DCV. And Mr. Nam was there!! You sure kept that swing warm! Now you can tell prospective Culture Linkers how much fun we have. Congratulations to the winners of our dictionaries; Le Van Hung, Duong Tra My, Nguyen Thi Nhung and Phan Duy Khanh.
And in answer to the many inquiries on the day, the May Culture Link event is on May 23rd and is all about my favourite subject, and yours – FOOD!! Watch the hallways of your school for the posters and pester your CSO’s for tickets. And of course as usual, I’ll do a bulk email as well! And finally, keep an eye on the TV in your branch. Very soon there will be a Culture Link video. See if your can find yourself and tell your friends and classmates to check it out.

thanks culture links and Culture link’s coodinator (Mr.Sunglasses)I have to say that our culture links is very lucky because of Mr.Sunglasses’s role.he really made us relaxed and broken our Tension after some weeks working and learning hard
