Hi Culture Linkers,
How do you feel about our Culture Link this month with a bunch of interesting and amazing things? I saw some new guys and gals. Was your first Culture Link impressive?
You had a great lesson with the new Culture Link teacher, Mr. Stephen, who comes from England. The room was quite small for all of you but it could not restrict your enthusiasm. With eagerness to gain knowledge of new cultural aspects, you joined in the lesson and learnt more about many kinds of films and their development history. The way you took your turn and answered questions with the ball is unique. I truly want to catch it next time. Congratulations to the 4 winners of dictionaries: Pham Ninh Giang, Le Minh Nguyet, Le Thu Tra, Ngo Minh Thu and others who won Language Link T-shirts.
And now, my favorite part: Movie at Megastar!!! Love it. Your taste in movies is great. Half of you enjoyed yourselves with The Karate Kid –a mixture of martial arts and comedy. You met your idols: Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith Some of you chose Marmaduke. Luckily, you found the way out after getting lost in the world of pets. Couldn’t stop laughing. LOL. Mr. Stephen, some students and me voted for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. An amazing adventure with glorious panoramas.
I would like to give a special thanks to our new teacher, Mr. Stephen Tucker, who brought English culture to us, and will surely bring some surprise to us next month. Come and join us with the July Culture Link: History and styles of Pop Music. I promise it will be funny and filled with astonishment.
So buy your tickets early, tell your friends and ready to fire-up yourselves!
See ya!

Hi Culture Linkers!
It was great to see so many old faces back again for another Sunday of fun along with a bunch of newbies. Welcome! You all got involved and had a great time. There were some fantastic ‘Balloon Bunnies’ created and the mental scramble for jigsaw pieces was intense. I wonder if my class can remember their buzzers!? I can still taste those chocolate eggs from the ‘Easter Egg Hunt’. After some hallway antics and class-room collisions in the ‘Egg Obstacle Race’ we were off to the fishing spot. Bao Son beckoned and after a 45 minute traffic run, always fun in Hanoi, we rolled up at the ecology park and the prospect of some intense encounters of the fish kind. Read more »
Hi Culture Linkers,
Wow! You guys never cease to amaze me with your enthusiasm!!
Another Culture Link has come and gone and judging by the smiles on faces and the crashing of bowling balls on the lanes everybody had a great time. And some very unusual bowling styles were on display (lol). Star Bowl turned out to be a great venue for our activity this month and I would like to thank all the staff for their help.
The lesson went well as usual and once again you all got into the spirit of things. Particularly impressive was the ‘Heaving competition’. Some spectacular hitting of the target and some very impressive misses especially while blindfolded. But lots of laughter none-the-less. I hope you all understand a bit more about Irish culture and why ‘Irish eyes are always smiling’.
Congratulations to the four winners of the dictionaries for their bowling efforts – Do Ngoc Vuong, Dong Anh Ngoc, Dinh Hai Thinh and Dang Ngoc Chien. High scores and strikes were the order of the day from these four gentlemen!
As I mentioned at the bowling alley, next month the theme is Easter. We are getting chocolate Easter eggs all the way from England just for the day. And the outside activity next month is fishing. So bait your hook for that one!
I would like to give a special thanks to my Culture Link Team, Yvonne and our two brilliant interns La Thuy Anh and Do Tien Vinh. The great news is that the whole team will be back next month, something which I know from talking to many of you is a very popular decision. Heh, and I think it’s a great team too!!
So thanks again for coming along, having fun and making the day great for us as well. We really thrive on your enthusiasm!
Check out the photos on the website, have a laugh and reminisce on a great day!
So buy your tickets and see you all next month!!
